BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) — New Brockton Mayor Bill Carpenter promised to make city government more open, but that apparently doesn't apply to City Hall bathrooms.
A spokesman for Carpenter told The Enterprise (http://bit.ly/1djXNrS ) on Thursday that the bathrooms will remain locked during the day under the new administration.
The bathrooms were locked last year after a handful of incidents over the summer where men were discovered shaving or attending to other personal grooming needs in the ladies' room.
Visitors to City Hall now have to get a key from the mayor's office by leaving photo identification or another form of collateral.
The bathrooms are unlocked during the evenings for people attending public meetings.
