GLOUCESTER, Mass. (AP) — The former manager of a Gloucester convenience store has been charged with stealing $21,000 in lottery receipts as well as about 300 scratch-off lottery tickets from the shop.
Police on Tuesday arrested 27-year-old Shannon Hill on a charge of with larceny over $250.
Authorities tell the Gloucester Daily Times (http://bit.ly/YEhwd8 ) say a surveillance tape showed Hill taking money from a lottery register at Deo Braga's convenience store and Dunkin' Donuts outlet.
Braga reported the missing money to police Friday.
Police say store surveillance tapes show Hill slipping cash from the lottery register, then walking into the store's office and setting the cash on a table. The woman would then put other items on top of the money, before sliding it into her purse.
