WEYMOUTH, Mass. (AP) — Weymouth police are asking the public to help them identify the woman seen apparently swiping a $500 parrot from a pet store.
Surveillance video shows the woman at It's a Pet's World on Bridge Street reaching in and taking the baby bird out of its cage on Oct. 18.
Store worker Kyle Waldron tells WCVB-TV (http://bit.ly/17NPltA ) the video shows the woman stuffing the bird in her shirt and down her sleeve before walking out.
Waldron says the parrot was on sale for $500, but the woman would likely get $300 selling it online if she's trying to get rid of it.
He says he's also concerned about the bird's health. The parrot is only 12 weeks old and is still being hand fed with a syringe.
