Omiya beats Urawa to set J-League unbeaten recordAP , Associated Press

SAITAMA, Japan (AP) — Omiya Ardija set a J-League record by extending its unbeaten run to 18 games after Slovenian striker Zlatan Ljubijankic scored Saturday in a 1-0 victory over Urawa Reds.
Ljubijankic found the net in first-half stoppage time for Omiya, which hasn't lost since Aug. 25, 2012. Kashima Antlers held the previous record of 17 games without defeat.
The win allowed Omiya to move into second place in the standings on 17 points, one behind Yokohama F Marinos who lost their first match of the season, 1-0 to Albirex Niigata.
Hideya Okamoto scored in the 77th minute for Niigata, which won for the first time at home.
In other matches, Yoshito Okubo and Brazilian Renato each scored a pair of goals to lead Kawasaki Frontale to a 4-2 win over Vegalta Sendai.
Kashiwa Reysol beat Sagan Tosu 3-0 after goals by Serbian striker Cleo, Masato Kudo and an own goal by Sagan defender Hae Yeo-sung.
Brazilian Lucas scored two goals and Kazuma Watanabe added another as FC Tokyo beat 10-man Nagoya Grampus 3-1. Australian striker Josh Kennedy scored for Nagoya.
Hisato Sato scored for the second straight game as champion Sanfrecce Hiroshima beat winless Jubilo Iwata 2-0, while Shimizu S-Pulse drew 1-1 with Cerezo Osaka.
Elsewhere, Ryota Nagaki and Daisuke Kikuchi scored to give Shonan Bellmare a 2-1 win over Oita Trinita while Kashima and Venforet Kofu finished in a goalless draw.
