ALFRED, Maine (AP) — A Maine judge has awarded a $2.4 million judgment to the mother of two young men who were shot in Biddeford in 2009.
Rory Holland was convicted in 2010 of killing 21-year-old Derek Greene and 19-year-old Gage Greene in June 2009 as they walked in front of his home.
On Friday, a judge awarded Tammy Cole $2.4 million in her wrongful death lawsuit against Holland.
The judgment includes $720,000 for wages the two men would have made in their lifetimes; $200,000 for pain and suffering; $1 million for her loss; and $500,000 in punitive damages.
Cole told the Portland Press Herald (http://bit.ly/13XPNaZ) that she was pleased with the judgment but that she doesn't expect to see much of the money because Holland is serving a life sentence in prison.
