AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — The recent pattern of sun one day, rain the next, seems to be working for Maine's strawberry crop.
Growers say their berries will be ready for picking soon. And The Kennebec Journal (http://bit.ly/1bLbUAV) says they like what they see so far.
But they're still keeping an eye on the fickle weather.
Eric Seaman, of Seaman's Berry Farm in Litchfield, the weather in the next three weeks is still important. He says growers want hot days interspersed with some showers.
Maine's strawberry season usually goes from the end of June to near the middle of July.
