DANVERS, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts lawyer has been sentenced to a year in jail for pulling a gun in a dispute with another driver over a parking spot at the Liberty Tree Mall in Danvers.
Richard Connors, of Lynn, was found guilty of assault with a dangerous weapon.
The Salem News (http://bit.ly/17XjqNs ) reports that a second count of the same charge was dismissed.
Prosecutors say the encounter started when a 30-year-old Beverly man was waiting for a woman to back out of a space last November. He grew impatient with the woman, Connors' wife, and the two exchanged words. Authorities say Connors got out of the car's passenger seat, walked up to the victim's car and pointed a gun at him.
Connors and his attorney said the other man was the aggressor.
