HOLYOKE, Mass. (AP) — Workers at Holyoke City Hall are asking that the bathrooms in the building's basement be locked because people are using the facilities to bathe, as a place to meet to have sex and use drugs.
Thirteen employees in a petition submitted to the City Council Public Safety Committee on Wednesday said things have "gotten out of hand."
They are asking that the bathrooms be locked, employees be given their own keys, while members of the public who want to use the facilities must ask to borrow a key.
City employees say they have been threatened and have found people passed out in the bathrooms.
The Republican (http://bit.ly/12lX0OW ) reports that committee Chairman Anthony Soto said the employees' petition must be balanced with the right of the public to have access to the bathrooms.
