WOBURN, Mass. (AP) — An Acton woman charged with beating her 13-month-old-son to death heads to court this week for a possible plea deal.
Christina Hancock is scheduled to appear in Middlesex Superior Court on Wednesday for a change of plea hearing to discuss the possibility of a manslaughter plea. If a deal can't be worked out, her murder trial is scheduled to start Thursday.
Authorities say the 25-year-old Hancock beat her son Kaydn to death in May 2010.
The Sun of Lowell (http://bit.ly/W1mthp ) reports that an autopsy showed the boy had internal bleeding and multiple traumatic injuries, including contusions to his stomach, liver and colon. The medical examiner ruled the boy's death a homicide from blunt force trauma.
Hancock said the baby suffered the injuries in a fall from his crib.
