NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) — A New Bedford school for underperforming high school students has been targeted by a thief or thieves who stole 26 netbooks, an iPad and a 55-inch smart television.
Lisa Mello-Frost, program manager at YouthBuild New Bedford, says she thinks it was an inside job.
She tells The Standard-Times (http://bit.ly/182dejq ) whoever stole the roughly $7,000 worth of electronics knew exactly where they were stored and speculated it was either a current or former student.
The glass window on the second-floor computer room door was shattered before a locked cabinet holding the netbooks was broken into.
YouthBuild has an insurance policy and plans to file a claim for the lost equipment.
