BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) — A Brockton woman says she has been unfairly barred from attending the murder trial of the man charged with killing her son, but court officials say there's good reason.
Dimariz Ortiz tells The Enterprise (http://bit.ly/1gCDKlk ) that said Brockton Superior Court officials have banned her and her 23-year-old son from attending the murder trial of the man charged withkilling her 19-year-old son, James Ortiz.
Authorities say James Ortiz was shot three times by 25-year-old Drew Beck in August 2011 after an argument outside a liquor store.
Court officials said the decision banning members of the victim's family was made after a disturbance Wednesday involving Ortiz and her son inside the courthouse.
Dimariz Ortiz says she wasn't causing a "big fuss," and there was no physical violence.
