MEDFORD, Mass. (AP) — A 22-year-old Boston man has been ordered held on $25,000 bail after state police say he allegedly fought a lifeguard and threatened gun violence at a Cambridge swimming pool.
The Boston Globe reports ((http://bo.st/18hmQWI) that Antwon Perkins pleaded not guilty Friday in Cambridge District Court to charges including assaulting a public employee, assault with a dangerous weapon, threatening to commit a crime, and disorderly conduct.
Prosecutor Clarence Brown said Perkins came to the McCrehan Pool on Thursday looking for a male lifeguard he claimed was texting his girlfriend, who also works there. Brown said Perkins punched the man several times and threatened to shoot two others who intervened.
Perkins' attorney said there's nothing to indicate his client was serious about the threats.
Brown said Perkins also faces larceny and witness intimidation charges in Boston.
