FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (AP) — Prosecutors say a 70-year-old Framingham man convicted of receiving an out-of-state package full of marijuana two years ago has done it again.
Police arrested James Auerbach near his home on Wednesday after he allegedly picked up a package containing six pounds of pot from a UPS facility in Needham. The package had come from California. A UPS employee alerted police after smelling the marijuana.
The MetroWest Daily News (http://bit.ly/1foOQ0R ) reports that Auerbach pleaded not guilty Thursday to possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
A judge ordered Auerbach held without bail pending a probation violation hearing.
His lawyer asked for no bail.
Authorities say Auerbach was sentenced to two years in jail after pleading guilty to receiving 15 pounds of marijuana through the U.S. Mail in August 2011.
