STURBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — A Boston man and a Manchester, N.H., woman who allegedly had a kilogram of what police say is cocaine in their car when they were pulled over are scheduled to face a judge.
Carlos Alberto Richards and Sandra Ovalles are expected to be arraigned Monday in Dudley District Court.
Police say the 34-year-old Richards was driving when the car was stopped on Interstate 84 in Sturbridge on Friday for having excessive window tinting and for failing to signal.
The Telegram & Gazette (http://bit.ly/19uY2bR ) reports that a police dog found a hidden compartment in the car that contained a plastic bag containing white powder believed to be cocaine. Police also recovered marijuana.
Richards was held on $25,000 bail, while Ovalles was released. It was not clear if they had hired lawyers.
