FRANKFURT, GERMANY FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) _ Backup quarterback Sean LaRocca threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Sean Foster with 15 seconds left Saturday gave the Rhein Fire a 21-20 WLAF victory over the Frankfurt Galaxy.
It was the Rhein Fire's second win in as many weeks over the Galaxy (2-4), who lost in the final minute for the third straight week.
LaRocca, who belongs to the Denver Broncos, replaced injured starter T.J. Rubley with 1:29 remaining and engineered the winning 75-yard drive.
LaRocca, working with no timeouts, was 3-of-4 for 65 yards in the drive that was capped by his pass to Foster which tied the game 20-20.
Manfred Burgsmueller's extra point gave the Rhein Fire (4-2) the win in front of 39,182 _ the largest crowd in the WLAF since the league restarted play in 1995.
Ralf Kleinmann's 41-yard field goal with less than two minutes left in the game gave the Galaxy a 20-14 lead.
Rubley was knocked out of the game by a hard tackle. He threw two first-half TD passes, one to Bill Schroeder for 42 yards and another for 13 yards to German national Babak Movalsaghi.
