DETROIT (AP) _ As part of a restructuring, General Motors Corp. said it planned to close six assembly plants during the next few years in addition to four previously announced. Locations of the new closings were not disclosed.
The following notes the location of the assembly plants, followed by the vehicles made at the plants and the number of hourly employees. The four previously announced closings also are noted.
Arlington, Texas: Buick Roadmaster, Chevrolet Caprice, Cadillac Brougham; 3,200.
Baltimore: Chevrolet Astro, GMC Safari; 3,300.
Bowling Green, Ky.: Chevrolet Corvette; 990.
Detroit: Chevrolet, GMC motorhome chassis; 475.
Doraville, Ga.: Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme; 2,200.
Flint, Mich.: Buick LeSabre, Oldsmobile 88; 3,500.
Flint, Mich.: Chevrolet C-K, GMC Sierra pickups; 5,000.
