Eddie Murphy Named in Paternity Suit

LOS ANGELES (AP) _ A woman who says Eddie Murphy is the father of her 6-week-old baby has filed a paternity suit against the actor-comedian seeking child support, lawyers said Friday.

Nicolle Rader, 19, filed suit April 22 in Los Angeles Superior Court seeking child support for her daughter Ashlee Murphy, who was born March 15, said the actor's attorney, Jane Stevens.

''We just received copies of the pleading for the first time today,'' the attorney said from her New York office. There was no immediate response to the suit, she said.

Robert C. Brandt, an attorney for Miss Rader, 19, confirmed the suit was filed but said he couldn't comment on specifics.

Murphy, the ''Saturday Night Live'' television star who has made several hit motion pictures, including ''Beverly Hills Cop'' and an upcoming sequel, was not available for comment, his lawyer said.

Robert D. Wachs, a spokesman for Murphy's production company, said the entertainer ''categorically denies that he is the father of any baby.''
